Backlighting when turning the steering wheel

How to activate turn signal illumination with PTF on Lada Vesta and XRAY

“Fog lights with cornering light function” – one of the new chips AVTOVAZ, which was presented at the MMAS-2018. This option was first used on the Lada Vesta Sport and Lada XRAY Cross. Did you know that the function of turn signal illumination using PTFs can be activated with your own hands and on other LADA cars?

One of the owners of Lada Vesta SW ( Nikolay-10rus ) managed to activate the function of turn on fog lights depending on the turn of the steering wheel with the help of special software.

Warning! The function can only be activated on vehicles with light sensor.

Now the PTFs will not only come on when you turn, but also when you turn the turn signal (even to change lanes), as well as when you turn off the reverse gear.

Fog lights are disappointing: they shine only forward, and quite weakly. According to preliminary information on the upcoming Vesta Sport vazovtsy implemented the function of backlighting turns with them. If the bumper lights remain the same, there will be no benefit from the innovation.

If you have not been able to perform this activation yourself, ask for help from specialists.

Message from Sly Hare.

Is it possible to implement the backlight to the side when turning the steering wheel on the Camry 40, as it is performed in the base Touareg and Rovers?

I’m on DRIVE2. Camry ACV30 White Japanese. 2.4 G limited edition, TEMS, spoiler, lenticular bixenon, strut, etc.

Re: backlighting when turning the steering wheel.

Difficult but probably not possible. In rexes (newer rafiks) the bulbs spin, you need to look at the manuals how it’s implemented, but most likely it’s all tied to the ECU. Or you can try to make a mess of it yourself, headlamp rehash that would be in the side spinning, to get a controller of all this nonsense, but it seems that the needle is not worth it.

Re: backlighting when turning the steering wheel.

Funny thing is, the above cars have a headlight that doesn’t turn anywhere, but when you turn the steering wheel (rather than turn the turn signals on), the headlight bulb comes on. In one way or another depending on the direction of the turn.

Re: backlighting when turning the steering wheel.

The Rex definitely does, the Merican (RX350 Thunder edition) anyway. Naturally when turning the steering wheel.

Re: backlighting when turning the steering wheel.

Or did I misunderstand the question, is there a desire to do extra backlighting rather than twist the lens? If so, it’s not realistic at all, as there should be appropriate reflectors in the headlight. I think it’s easier to make it twist than to screw bulbs into the headlights.

Re: backlighting when turning the steering wheel.

I read somewhere a long time ago, how a craftsman hooked up his car with swiveling headlights. Now this article is a long search, I’ll tell you in 2 words: lights (1) in the bumper mounted on hinges (a la door hinges), the other end is tied to a cable that goes to the levers. When you turn the wheels (3), the cable pulls/rotates the headlight by the angle to which the wheels are turned. The spring (2) is used to return the headlight to its original position

IMHO, no need to tie the side lighting with the position of the steering wheel. if the PTF is xenon, it is enough to illuminate both sides. always use when maneuvering in the yards. especially crowded with cars. and during normal driving PTFs are always on. only in the evening sometimes help them dipped beam.

HFs have a wide angle of illumination in the horizontal plane 100-120 degrees. and very narrow in the vertical – 10-15 degrees. perfectly illuminate the near zone – 2-10 m. that actually needs to light the roadsides
