Sergei3, I would also add to that, the bypass tube. Between the inlet, and the outlet. With a needle valve (from the burner), to supply extra air to the burner. I’ve had it happen, when filling the tank with quality fuel, the mixture was highly enriched, and the burner worked like a blowtorch. The flame was there, but no temperature. You had to wait for the fuel to become poorer. This was a disadvantage, and a big one at that. With such a bypass system, it would be possible to lean the mixture, and work, both on quality and not so much fuel.

Hello all, the burner is, a tank from the fire extinguisher, two pots from a fridge “Sviyaga” on the hose before the tank with gasoline (fire extinguisher normal outlet for air suction and output to the burner itself from the tank

In the 80’s made a tank from a 3 liter can. 1. take 3-liter can 2. take the lid for canning 3. make two holes in the lid for two tubes 4. roll up a hole lid can conventional canning machine 5. tin solder tubes in the lids, 5.1 intake tube almost to the bottom of the bank (bubbles, creates gasoline vapor), 5.2 outlet tube does not come out of the cover, flush – takes gasoline vapor

Tank ready, funnel pours gasoline through a short tube, through a short tube can and pour gasoline and drain the waste. Worked like clockwork, time to create 30 minutes. One problem – the jar is glass, but the tank for 30 min.

The best compressor is a small vacuum cleaner “Bumblebee”, before all Soviet vacuum cleaners had an output valve/flow. Vacuum cleaner uses a DC motor, the speed depends on the voltage. Connect through the foot pedal – can not think of a better unit for soldering.

It says in the 80s, too, do not advise, but then worked and such. SAM in shock . But I was more complicated. 0.75 can “GLOBUS” with tubes, but the bank wrapped with electrical tape and plastic, to protect against shock. So secured myself as best I could.

For a long time I used a liter milk bottle as a tank (those who are more than 20 years old, should remember them), with a cap of thick rubber in which I inserted a couple of tubes. And that would not fall down, taped a plastic jar to the leg of the table in which I inserted the bottle. The plus side of this design – you can always see the level of gasoline, it is also easy to add gasoline and drain the waste.

The bottle is sturdy. From a small kick will not split. Yes, if you have an aquarium compressor, it is fine, I worked so at first. Breaking a 3-liter can is quite easy. One sloppy movement and you “Gastello”.

The tank can be taken from the blowtorch, the receiver on the used cylinder with freon, after using up freon are usually thrown out. Compressor from the refrigerator is best with a vertical shaft, it has its own internal suspension, well, if the horizontal shaft will have to mount it on a suspension with springs, exactly as he was mounted in a refrigerator.

Colleagues! Has anyone have experience using instead of a compressor for soldering – electric pump, such as this http://intex-online.ru/?s=assortment&id=66624 ?

As I wrote in this thread, I used to use a “bumblebee” vacuum cleaner with a blowout, now there are none.

The pump, I’m sure, uses a DC motor and will be controlled (in rpm) rheostat – a pedal. Power suitable, the price does not bite, too.

Olorin, A you for soldering can fit compressor as for the aquarium and maybe 100lit / min will be small if the samovar solder. You did not say about the desire to hoe a Budya .

The thing is, that for the aquarium compressor or from under the fridge need an additional receiver for pressure smoothing. These compressors are piston type. Vacuum cleaners use an impeller to pressurize the air , the flow is uniform and depends on the speed of the impeller. Since the motor is DC, the speed of the impeller can be controlled by a rheostat. The question is not what to solder, but which cascade is more convenient to use for soldering.

And I write that I do not understand what you will solder and do not understand what is the cascade. And also your vacuum cleaner may not be enough to solder a tray or samovar and will be too powerful to solder an empty turkey – albeit with a rheostat. Also, the receiver and rheostat can be replaced by a single pedal with a bleed valve without the extra gorudes. There you go. I could be wrong, but old vacuum cleaners are noisy – you’re not going to fix a new one. Try to explain the purpose and maybe more people will respond.

Olorin, Really, it all depends on the purpose. My acquaintance, who solders with gasoline (I use a gas-oxygen torch for soldering), makes do with an aquarium compressor. And no receiver while he does not need, because its role performs an empty volume of a bottle from a dropper (250ml.) in which a little gasoline (more than 70ml. not seen). If you take a big one, it will be even better. And for melting, he used dental bellows. I use a pond compressor for melting. The capacity is great, but the pressure. I don’t know the capacity of that pump you pointed out. The pressure should be enough, the only thing that takes doubts about the continuous operation.

Hello all! I would like to know this that.kotogodu did soldering barrel, melting out the soldering lamp without removing the plunger to pressurize, and without supplying air to the lamp. Just once saw one master here is such a design-(blowtorch with a pressure piston – it may be instead of a compressor he used that it was remade, I do not remember how it was long ago, as air is brought to the lamp or adapter then to the burner itself HZZ, saw that he still worked frog pump pump pump pumped air as I understand it was passed through a soccer). If anyone has successfully such a device made and operated enjoying how it melts and solders precious metals reaching the correct temperature, please respond, and if you can lay out a drawing, even by hand what and how to connect, it also describes how to remake the lamp itself without removing the piston! And if the forum already has a similar invention with a description and pictures can be simply a link, if no difficulty, I would be grateful!

Not breaking the carrier for the garage

Sprinkler 18+. Oil blower from a blowtorch.

Seemed to be handy and you could pour oil in “almost” without getting dirty. But after a couple of oil changes in freezing temperatures, it started to waste oil on the back side of the piston. And all this charm dripped down on my hands … Then I decided that next time I had to make an oil blower. The most popular option is from a fire extinguisher. But I could not find it.

I found an expansion tank from Shniva – made it fast.

This option had a big disadvantage. It was impossible to pump it properly. If to take out the valve in a plug – it can break on small pieces and arrange a local ecological catastrophe. That is why we had to pump it while filling. This, of course, is more convenient than nothing, but it annoyed me a bit. Also, the tank itself is not standing because of the mold and had to hang it, which is also uncomfortable. The faucet was also not very handy, because it is not convenient to get under everywhere.

Blower from blowtorch.

Advantages: – holds much pressure – has pressure relief valve (many) – half round bottom – fluid will be extracted from bottom – low and steady, has handle – has tube on bottom and separate filler neck with cork

Bought a blowtorch Kalibr LP-3,5. The biggest capacity – 3,5 liters.

Photo in the Chevrolet Niva logbook

The biggest capacity is 3.5l. I took the top part off, it is not needed. Instead of it I took a similar fitting for a hose. The thread in the bulb is small. I couldn’t find the fitting with such thread so I had to screw it with sealant instead of thread. Holds great.

The lamp was painted disgusting. The paint peeled off in pieces and the whole area was in the green crumbs, I had to clean and re-paint.

Paving stone mold with their own hands

The tube to the bottom turned out not to reach the bottom… It was welded, I had to drill it out. I picked up the diameter of the hole with an oil and petrol resistant hose, so that it would enter very tightly into the hole and passed it all the way to the bottom. I cut it flush with the outlet and screwed the hose fitting on top.

Unscrewed the pump from the cover and screwed a collapsible Chinese car nipple in its place. I must have drilled a hole (I do not remember).

Bought the cheapest air blowing gun. I connected it to the blower with an oil and grease resistant hose. It’s soft and doesn’t freeze in winter, unlike PVC.

Pumped it with the compressor and adjusted the pressure relief valve to 6 atm.

Drilled holes in the handle to insert the spout of the gun. It is convenient that the spout of the gun would not get dirty in the dust on standby. You can also insert the gun upside down so as not to leak oil residue on the floor.

Tests with water showed that this thing beams at 15 meters )) So it is better to be careful with oil. Pressure of 6 atm is enough to fully drain 3 liters of fluid. Just what you need. Oil comes out without any residue. It’s a pleasure to fill up.

And to pour out the oil from the engine I saw a basin of 30l which was left from the bath of a small child. It has an elongated shape and everything that would normally run down the beam on the floor – now goes into the basin.
