Installing LEDs in the dipped beam and lights KIA Ceed
Let’s talk about another replacement of regular halogen lamps to LEDs in the low beam, which we have implemented in our car for the owner of the car KIA Ceed with the factory halogen lens optics. Of course the lenses shine better than the reflector, but even better headlight can be achieved by replacing the standard bulbs on the LED. Actually, in this material we will install XS-Light LED lamps H7 with an adapter for KIA cars, as well as change the “glass” in the lamps on Philips LED lamps W5 W 6000 K.
If you compare the halogen with LED lamps, the standard light strongly loses in all respects. First, halogen light is weaker than LEDs, and secondly, to achieve white light with halogen lamps is unreal – even the bulbs with painted bulbs will frankly yellow. Thirdly, halogen lamps are not known for any particular longevity, so they stably burn out every few months.
As for the XS-Light LED lamps H7, we produce them independently on our own personal development, so we take seriously the performance of a series of lamps XS- Light, which covers all the bases of the headlights. That is, our lamps are not only bright, but they also serve for several years – the body is made of aircraft-grade aluminum, while the lamps are based on the latest generation of chips and have a built-in fan for active cooling. For lamps in the PTF we use passive radiator cooling, but that’s another story.
Installing the LED lamps in KIA CID headlamps does not take much time, as there is no need to disassemble the headlights – we managed in 25 minutes by removing halogen lamps from the lens, replacing them with XS-Light LED H7 lamps in the low beam, as well as install and new Philips W5W 6000K LED parking lights. For the correct operation of new LED equipment required a set of DIXEL cheat sheet: as the factory lamps consume more battery power, then specifically in this car, it is necessary to stabilize the voltage, so that the new LED-lamps do not strobe.
The final photos show the clear advantage of LEDs over halogen: with the new lamps KIA Ceed headlights lit up with pure white light. The light and shadow line is dense and powerful, but it has low side glare, so it will not blind oncoming drivers. Of course, do not forget about aesthetics – white headlight looks much more beautiful than the factory yellow.
