Noise isolation of Chevrolet Captiva
According to the law of physics of the acoustics section and the human ear perception, noise reduction by ~ 1.2 decibel corresponds to a 2-fold decrease in noise in reality. Accordingly the difference after our processing in 3-5 decibels on an example of Chevrolet Captiva is equal to 4-6 times noise reduction for human hearing.
These measurements were made by a professional noise meter “SIU Assistant” with verification and calibration before use. On the factory tires in the warm season at a speed of 80 km / h on dry asphalt. The noise value of the factory sound insulation corresponds to 57.3 dBA, after our treatment the noise level decreased to 52.2 dBA which corresponds to 4.3 times reduction. Below you can listen to the difference before and after noise isolation in the form of audio files to see the result with your ear and not with numbers.
In each specific car the result may vary by 20-30%, depending on the model and seasonality of the installed tires, tire diameter, technical condition of the car, configuration (with or without the insulating glass), type of engine (gasoline, diesel, hybrid, electric), engine capacity (1.4 and 3 liters make noise in different ways), the presence of underlays, and season of measurement (winter, summer).
Our service “Autocomfort” has long been successfully engaged in carrying out works on noise isolation of all car brands. And the compact crossover Chevrolet Captiva is one of them. Its owners visit our workshop, expressing their dissatisfaction with the standard sound insulation and asking to improve its properties. Nowadays our masters have sounded more than 200 Chevrolet Captiva crossovers. They are well aware of the peculiarities of the works. In most cases we take apart the interior of a car and see the bare metal, which is unable to sufficiently absorb extraneous sounds.
Our advantages
We work only by appointment. Therefore we prepare for the arrival of each car in advance. We heat up the soundproofing material one hour beforehand in a special furnace, which guarantees that it is rolled up to the surfaces as much as possible and saves time. This allows you to work within 8 hours and the owners do not have to leave the car for several days, as it is possible in other workshops. And the owner of the car can observe what is being done to it, sitting nearby on the sofa. Well, or remotely. Then, we will send you a photo report of the works, so you may see how the process is going.
Captiva hood and roof
Noise isolation of Chevrolet Captiva in Moscow begins with the treatment of the hood with a vibrodampfer. Regular thermal protection from the inside is reinforced with our modern noise isolator. Then the roof is also treated with 3mm thick mastic dampener. A special acoustic felt is glued to the ceiling, which reliably prevents extraneous sounds from penetrating into the interior. After that even the drumming of the rain will become much quieter, and the roof will become more rigid and reliable.
Captiva doors
Then the noise isolation of Chevrolet Captiva in Moscow continues. Masters proceed to carefully disassemble the door trims and degrease the surfaces on which a special material is glued. As the first layer is used a vibration damper, which is put on the outer side of the doors. Then the sound insulator, made on the basis of foam rubber and covered with foil, is attached. It has no adhesive layer, which decomposes in the external environment. Therefore, it is highly resistant to moisture. The door frame is vibro-insulated with a heated material that is rolled onto the surfaces with a special tool. A modern sound absorber completes the treatment of the doors.
Floor, trunk and wheel arches
At this stage of the work, masters disassemble the interior with the removal of all trim and carpets. All surfaces are carefully degreased, and a powerful 4 millimeter thick vibration damper is glued to them. For noise insulation of the floor the highly effective and dense material Bibiton is used. As a third layer is used noise-absorbing felt. Once the hood, doors, engine, trunk, undercarriage, floor, interior, roof, arches outside, underfenders (lockers), engine shield and torpedo, Chevrolet Captiva dashboard are soundproofed, the car starts to feel and drive much better!
We guarantee our customers that we will not break the factory quality of the car and will not leave behind any scratches, cuts, or other damage to the surfaces. And the cost of services will pleasantly surprise you. The specialists use only first-class materials in the process of noise isolation of Chevrolet Captiva and the price starting from 29000 rubles is completely justified. Well, the maximum price can go up to 44000 rubles. You shouldn’t feel sorry for this money, because the quietness and comfort will pay off with less fatigue and irritability during the exploitation of the car.

Noise isolation Chevrolet Captiva. Working on the market of noise isolation since 2007, we are already used to the fact that manufactures do not tend to raise the level of comfort of modern cars by improving the sound insulation of the car. That is why in most cases we see completely bare metal after disassembling the car interior. So it has happened with the Captiva. These cars very often visit our shop, which shows the mediocre soundproofing of the interior and the dissatisfaction of the owners. We are ready for the car to arrive by appointment – a few hours we cut all the soundproofing by templates and placed in a special heater to a temperature of 50 degrees. This not only saves time for our masters, but also greatly improves the quality of the work. The owner of the car is in a comfortable environment directly in the sight of the car and will watch our clear and well-coordinated work, which lasts for about 7 hours. Anyway, let’s see everything in detail!
Noise isolation of Captiva hood is made by treating the metal of the hood with Comfortmat Gold G2 vibration damper, and we reinforce the standard thermal protection from the inside with Splenium.
Noise insulation of Captiva roof. This time we got a car with a hatch in the roof, and it means that only a part of it will be covered with our materials, because the hatch, as well as its sliding mechanisms occupy more than half of the area. On the ceiling we can see a few factory pieces of vibration isolation, glued and not rolled at the factory. What are they for, then?
We treat available metal of the roof with modern 3mm vibrodamphener Comfortmat Gold G3 from factory SGM.
The rear part of the ceiling is treated with thick acoustic felt. It is not recommended to do it above the sunroof. We would also like to point out that the roof of cars without a sunroof is processed in two layers with a full coating.
Noise insulation of Captiva doors begins with a careful dismantling of trims and degreasing of doors interiors.
The first layer of Comfortmat Gold G3 vibration damper takes its place on the outer wall of the door.
Then we take a sound insulator on the basis of Splen, but covered with a foil on the outside (protection against moisture) and without an adhesive layer (glue will decompose in a damp environment of the door). Instead of glue this material contains a factory layer of vibration isolation mastic thickness of 1mm. This material adheres flawlessly to the outer wall of the door and is not afraid of moisture running down it during washing or wet weather.
We proceed to the frame of the door and vibro-insulate it with full coverage and closing of technological holes with Comfortmat Gold G2. Qualitative rolling of the material with a special tool is mandatory.
A layer of modern sound absorber Comfortmat Lock 5, in Bebiton speaks in common parlance, completes sound insulation of a door. Analogues of this material are used in German cars as a factory sound insulation.
Captiva sound insulation of a floor, trunk and wheel arches begins with a full disassembly of the whole salon and taking out all trim and carpets which are interfering with our work. So far we have had about three hours, during which the craftsmen have been working on the roof and doors of the car.
After degreasing the floor we have everything ready to go.
After about another hour, we finished the floor vibration insulation work. Let’s dwell on the materials, because it is the quality of the flooring that has a major impact on the overall result. In the horizontal parts of the floor in the cabin, as well as on the wheel arches, we used one of the most modern and technologically advanced vibration dampeners Comfortmat Dark Bomb, which is positioned in the premium line of SGM factory as one of the most “shocking” flagmen among vibration dampeners. We do not skimp on materials and offer only the best to the customer. The thickness of Dark Bomb is almost 4 millimeters, and the modern formula of the composition allows the material to work effectively at all temperatures.
We move on to the noise insulation phase of the floor and use the highly effective dense Comfortmat Lock 5 (aka Bibiton). Most of the installation studios at this stage use cheap and already technically outdated Splen. We are guided by the principle “only the maximum” and use Bibiton, which will give a huge head start to Splenu, on the entire area of the floor.
In the same way we process rear fenders and sections of arches in a wing, available for pasting.
We are constantly trying to improve the quality and efficiency of our work and in those cars, where it is possible, we put 10mm of felt as the third sound absorbing layer on the floor.
Felt is also applied to the trunk lid and the lid itself is treated with vibration isolation.
The process of car assembly begins and our masters treat this stage with special trepidation, because everything must be in its place in exact accordance with the factory requirements.
At the request of the car’s owner, we are ready to perform sound insulation of the engine compartment and engine compartment with complete disassembly. This service will firstly help to get rid of the squeaks and rattles torpedo, and secondly slightly reduce the timbre of engine noise.
Because of the widest experience in car noise isolation we guarantee our clients the factory quality of the interior assembly, as well as the absence of traces of interference in the car, such as stains, cuts, broken plugs and pistons – you will not see any of this, even if you’re next to the car during all the work (which we very much welcome).
Noise isolation of Chevrolet Captiva was made by our professionals in 7 hours in the presence of the owner of the car. We demonstrated the highest quality of our work as well as high competence in assembling and disassembling Captiva saloon. Car after our work weighed 55 kilograms of modern materials that we do not spare in our work. This set of measures allows us to significantly muffle the car and increase the feeling of comfort for both the driver and passengers. We have been doing our job since 2007 and we thank each and every one of our clients for their trust.
