One of the disadvantages of a car with high mileage is wear and tear, and in the first place working fluids and related parts (filters, caps and gaskets) which happened to be very much in the tour. I decided for my own peace of mind to do a complete replacement of all fluids and at the same time to share the information I have collected a few days.
I should stipulate in advance that all of these articles are true for my 2009 model year car with a 3.0 V6 TDI engine (CASA) and a locking rear differential. Always check the applicability of the technical data found in the official sources .
ELSA: In countries where diesel fuel with high sulphur content is used, the engine oil must be changed every 7,500 km

I have read about oils for a long time and decided there is nothing better than buying the original oil and changing it every 7.5-10 km. If you choose not original, then always in accordance with the VW permit. Found two official documents with a list of oils certified for VAG tolerances: – Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) VW – 502 00, 505 01, 504 00, 507 00 (1997-2008) – Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) Audi – 501 01, 502 00, 505 00, 505 01, 504 00, 507 00 (1997-2016)
For interest has compared cost of oils with the identical admission and class SAE: G05 216 7M4 VAG “SPECIAL PLUS 5W-40”, 5l – 2800r. or 560r. for 1l. 4008177079207 Castrol “EDGE Titanium FST 5W-40”, 4L – 2,300r. or 575r. per 1L. 101575 Motul “Specific VW502.00-505.00-505.01 5W-40”, 5L – 2,800r. or 560r. per 1l.

2. Automatic transmissions, officially the oil is not subject to replacement during all service life of an automatic transmission, I think it’s better to change oil every 60t.km, 120t.km, than to repair or replace an automatic transmission every 200-250t.km 2.1. G 055 025 A2 , automatic transmission oil, 1l (full volume of automatic transmission oil – 12l, drain about 8-9l) 2.2. 09D 325 435 , automatic transmission oil filter 2.3. 09D 325 443 , automatic transmission filter gasket 2.4. 09D 321 371 , automatic transmission oil pan gasket 2.5. There are two positions on which you can save money by choosing alternative manufacturers, oil and oil filter ( Meyle 100 137 0002, filter + gasket kit). But as always there are nuances.
I can’t help but notice the excellent post Turbomatic: 2. Automatic Transmission in Touareg (typical problems, necessary consumables), link to the original article and varen2009: selection of ATF (“oil”) in automatic transmission 09G, instead of the original VAG “G 055 025 A2”, as well as his comment: But all they just think that their products are COMPETITIVE (and in some cases even allegedly superior) requirements VAG “G 055 025 A2”. None of them mention the presence of an OFFICIAL APPROVAL from VAG! All necessarily recommend the consumer to consult with the official dealer about the possibility of using their products!
If you change the oil manufacturer, though with the same tolerance, then to avoid mixing of oils need to do the change with a flush, because the oil is different, ie, will need twice the oil, which eats all the savings in the first 60t.km. and the possible savings at the change in the next 60t.km is not so substantial given the total mileage. At the filter and gasket can save twice as much, but then again, read somewhere that Meyle is a German production in China and the quality is not always high, and now whether to save 2.5 rubles at 60 km mileage? The other positions are worth a bit and it makes no sense to consider alternatives. My choice in the matter is only the original.
