We make an excellent carrier from a plastic canister with our own hands.
Such a carrier will come in handy in the garage of every motorist, because with such a homemade will no longer lie tangled wires all over the garage floor.
For this invention, we need a simple five-liter canister of oil, in my case it was oil zic.
So, we take the canister and on both sides find approximately the center. In this center we need to make a hole with a diameter of 5 cm for the sanitary pipe to freely enter there.
I drilled a hole with a crown, but if you do not have a crown, you can do in another way, such as with a paper knife, just try to make even.
The holes should be made on both sides of the canister.
Then we take a sanitary pipe (sewage PP 50 mm) insert it into the canister, through our holes, to insert the need to stop, leaving a couple of inches on the handle and draw a felt-tip pen, where we will cut – this is how the photo below …
Next, we pull out our tube and cut it at our mark.
Then we need a small piece of plywood, from which we will make the handle.
We mark out our handle as shown in the pictures below
And saw it with a jigsaw, by the way the hole in the plywood I made with the same drill bit.
In the center of the tube is drilled a hole with a diameter of 1 cm, or choose a diameter that your future wire went through the hole freely.
In this hole we insert the end of the wire and screw the secret socket to it, by the way it fits the diameter of the pipe.

We insert our pipe and on the other side we put the handle, which we screw to the pipe with self-tapping screws.
At the end of the plywood handle I screwed a long stud on which I put a piece of copper tubing and secured with two nuts, I cut the rest. I did this to make it easier to twist the handle.
Well now the only thing left is to make a hole for wire in canister cap, put it through and screw the cap back on.
Well, almost everything is ready, and now we only have to screw in the plug itself.
As a result we get excellent, compact carrier which will serve for many years.

The first thing you need to do is drill a hole in the lid of the canister. The diameter is chosen so that it corresponds to the thickness of the wire (in our case it is 8 mm). The axis of the coil: Make a marking, indenting from the thick edge of the pipe not more than 1 cm from the rubber seal. Then we measure a piece the length of which is 5-10 mm more than the thickness of the canister and cut the necessary fragment with a metal hacksaw. We treat the edges of the cut with emery paper.
Handle-limiter: On a sheet of textolite, mark the outside diameter of the thick edge of the pipe and around it draw an oval template, so that between the edge and the marking was about 1 cm.
The other side of the oval should be tapered so that the whole construction will resemble a pointer or an arrow. First we cut out a hole with a router, and then we use a jigsaw to cut out the whole piece. Such blanks will need to make two pieces.
For the plug on the other edge we need to mark on the sheet of textolite the inner diameter of the socket and the outer size of the wide part of the pipe and then cut out two circles.
Next, we drill a hole in the narrow part of the part with a recess for a flat cap, insert it from the pipe side, screw a nut, fixing the pin to the plate, and put on the hollow tube.
Center the canister: Using two diagonals, find the center of the canister on the side ribs and mark the holes – on one side the diameter is equal to the thickened edge of the tube (the one where the handle is already glued), and on the other is the size of the opposite end of the coil. We cut out and process the edges of the holes with a circular file, removing the roughness and burrs.
Assembly
Insert the electric wire from the handle side through the axis of the improvised coil and take it out through the side hole.
On the other end, put the plug and reel the extension cord using the handle. The length of the wire can be 10, 15 or even 25 meters – it all depends on the selected cross section.
When working, do not forget to follow the rules for the use of power tools and care in handling a sharp knife. The work is not complicated at all, but as a result, from an unnecessary canister turned out an original and very convenient extension cord, which will serve reliably.
